Sating that fans of The Vampire Diaries have been subjected to an emotional distress this week is underestimate the importance of the subject. JP: For Stefan, this surprise turns into hope that helps explain why he and Elena drifted so much. But we are also going to see much more of Stefan trying to find their own strength and the redefinition of what wants for himself.
