Will there be something more than just the cure growing up between Stefan and Rebekah?

If you did not see this week's episode "After School Special", stop reading now. The main love triangle took a new turn interesting. Julie Plec gives us some hint of what is to come.

Forced by Rebekah to tell the truth about why he slept with Damon, Elena said it was not for the link-it's because she loves him. After Damon and Elena said she felt it was real, and said "I love you". Does this solve the debate or doubt still exists?
Julie Plec: I think the question in the end is that Elena is so sure of what she feels, at that time, is enough to make Damon too. Yes, of course, that question is still in the air and will always exist. This is not necessarily an end, now that the word ["love"] stated. Doubt still be there. And will continue bothering Damon in the next episodes. Elena will have to continue to fight for it and how much I believe in it. But right now, these two people who are trying very hard to do the right thing and stay away from each other, and after two horrible days really long, need to be together. To believe that is real only for a moment, is enough to Damon. And by the way, that song [Snow Patrol "New York", which was heard during the phone call], that was the song I wanted to use during the kiss between Damon and Elena in episode 10 of last year, we lost just one weeks before issuing the episode. So I reserved teniodo that song for a year waiting for the right time to reuse.

Stefan and Rebekah on the same team is a good change.
JP: We've seen Stefan self-destruct in many different ways, and are usually quite dark and violent. We think an interesting response on their part because of the loss of his girlfriend, to feel deceived and betrayed, having a broken heart, would be solely focused on getting the cure to end all this misery - either for him and Elena, or perhaps to shove down your throat Damon's throat, who knows [laughs] - and alliance with what is probably the most self-destructive person. He gets into bed with you is obviously the mortal enemy of Elena. So we are very excited to have the opportunity to form this alliance.

Rebekah gave rise to a new question when he said that Klaus had erased the memory of Stefan what he felt for her. Are those feelings will resurface? Is a new question to add to this mess?
JP: Well, you know, we discovered a great chemistry when we introduce for the first time his character (Rebekah), then each of their individual stories led them in a different direction, so it's something I've never had the opportunity to drill down again. And yet existed, although Stefan was a very different. Now, I think there will be a bit of nostalgia attached to a time when both were in a very different place. I see a world in which Stefan wakes up and says: "Oh my God, I've been with the wrong girl all the time." Do not believe that to be the case at all. In fact, I think that of Rebekah and hates everything she represents. However, there are some good memories there that will reappear and give them a truce.
