What´s next for Tyler?
- Now that Caroline has hooked up with Klaus what´s next for Tyler, now that he´s back for good in TVD.
Nothing too great, we're sorry to say! "He's going to struggle," Julie Plec says. "He's back, his revenge attempt failed, he doesn't really know what he's supposed to be doing with himself. He's not in college, he split with Caroline, Matt Donovan is living in his house. [Laughs.] So it's a journey for him to find his way."

"Things are going to get really tricky (...)" - Julie Plec, Exclusive Interview.
- SPOILER! --> If you haven´t seen Episode 100, 500 Years Of Solitude (#5.11) don´t read this.
Katherine Pierce spent the majority of the episode, "500 Years of Solitude," lying on her deathbed believing her end was near. In celebration of her impending doom, Damon, Stefan and Co. took shots as they reminisced about the terrible things Katherine has done since season one. But after Nadia introduced a Plan B for how Katherine could skirt death, she jumped at the chance. By the end of the hour, Katherine took over Elena's body -- but only Nadia is in on the plan. R.I.P. Elena?
The episode also featured a long list of cameos, listed here in order of appearance:
- Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre),
- Klaus (Joseph Morgan),
- Emily Bennett (Bianca Lawson),
- Rebekah (Claire Holt),
- Aunt Jenna (Sarah Canning),
- Uncle John (David Anders),
- Elijah (Daniel Gillies),
- Vicki (Kayla Ewell),
- Tyler (Michael Trevino),
- Alaric (Matt Davis).
Julie Plec talks to THR about the episode's memorable returns and that shocking Katherine/Elena body-snatch in the final minutes.
The 100th episode featured a ton of cameos, including characters we haven't seen in a while. Since you couldn't feature everyone who made an impact, what were the guidelines with who would appear?
We knew we wanted to bring back everybody that had ever been a series regular for part of our family long-term. On top of that, we just love shouting back to little things, little characters, over the course of the series that were either embedded in the story or had great moments like the Uncle John moment [in season one] or Emily Bennett who, of course, was Katherine's sidekick back in the day.
The opening was quite comedic, with the major characters reminiscing about Katherine. How did you want to open this particular episode?
In the beginning, we're reminding the audience that Katherine used to just be a human girl who accidentally got pregnant -- and losing that baby, or having it taken away from her, was the catalyst for the rest of her life and the very thing that turned her into the person that she is. Coming off something so intense and learning that she's going to die, we loved that idea of kicking off the episode with what felt like a celebration.
It was also one of the rare moments where you had a lot of the major players in the same room.
Let me tell you, it takes some time to shoot when you get more than four people in a room too.

Julie Plec talks about season 5
SPOILER ALERT
The Vampire Diaries may have fired the fourth season with some major cliffhangers, but will not be immediately in the Fall premiere.
"There is a time warp," says executive producer Julie Plec tells EW. "The summer has passed and while poor Stefan has been suffering at the bottom of that lake, Damon and Elena have been having hot and loving sex."
Although the opening day collect the move to the University, Plec promises that fans will have the opportunity to see some of the sexy action that has taken place during the holidays.
"We found a way to show the public stylized as things have gone for the summer, which has been doing around the world," says Plec, reveals that the title of the first episode is "I know what you did last summer. "
Damon and Elena
So what awaits these two apart from all that hot sex? Plec, who recently said that the duo will be happy this year, explains that Damon and Elena will face normal marital conflict "between them to keep a secret of another with the intention of not hurting his feelings, tratatando to make them happy, little things which any normal couple fight and hopefully will make them stronger. "Plec adds:" The biggest obstacles in their relationship come from external sources, people, ideas, notions are trying to say they should not be together. It will be more a matter of them struggling to prove that if they should be together and that's fine. "
-Katherine human
After a summer trying to protect itself, Plec says Katherine return to Mystic Falls looking for a Salvatore to assist it. "Definitely its presence in Mystic Falls and the Salvatore mansion is a pain point," says Julie, who reveals that Katherine will stick much said Salvatore.
-Stefan
Do not expect the quarry Stefan leave unharmed. Plec hints that when it finally comes out of the woodwork, will be both the same and completely different. "There is a kind of puzzle together that I can not really expand, but it will be fun to play for Paul Wesley as an actor," says Plec.
-Klaus and Caroline
Klaus can be in New Orleans, but that does not mean it's all over for him and Caroline. Plec says there is a possibility that appears in the Caroline Big Easy (New Orleans). "I think there are a lot of complicated elements to try to make this happen, but I talked about it with Candice and Joseph. Exists one million logistics to work out and you never know, but it's something we like to do and I hope we do. "
-University
Best of Mystic Falls Whitmore attend the University this fall, the same university where Jenna earned her degree and Bonnie's grandmother and Shane were teachers. "Of course, the University did not want to come out of nowhere, and suddenly there was a university in Mystic Falls, but we knew we had to keep close enough to home so they could come and go or if you do a little place road trip, "says Plec. Although the group is separated, Plec promises that the core will remain intact. "It's fun because we have this fresh new history at the University, amid which Damon has to appear to solve a problem or that Elena has to go to solve a problem at home or Caroline returns home for a celebration, so I think we have conquered the curse of the University pretty well. "
-Kills
No season is complete without the loss of a major character, and this year is no exception. Plec says: "I think we have some juicy villains who need to overcome and there is always the possibility that one of our dear heroes kick the bucket. When, who and how, I'll never tell, but it is definitely in the plans. "

THE ORIGINALS: ONE OF THE BROTHERS WILL NOT RETURN
The series 'The Vampire Diaries' is famous for its deceased characters back to life, as we see it in the previous season finale in May. But not all the dead will have that possibility. Many fans hoped that Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) could be resurrected and go well with his family to the spin-off, 'The Originals'. But a priori, Kol will stay underground.
Julie Plec, the showrunner of 'The Vampire Diaries', said on Twitter that it's never good to go against the wishes of the fans because that makes you till you a bad reputation as a writer but ensures that the argument of a series, not a democracy and never will be. She is thrilled and amazed at the passion they put Kol fans, but requests, or attacks on the Internet are not going to make the creative team do something that does not believe anything that is not necessary for the series from his point of view at this time.
But Plec leaves, despite all, a very small door ensuring the hope that maybe, someday, we will see the history Kol when prompted. Or maybe not. Although expected to matter what people keep watching the show.

SUPERNATURAL REVELATIONS ON THE OTHER SIDE
Julie Plec, producer and creator of 'The Vampire Diaries', explained at a recent conference prey that other side in his imagination is quite similar to ours. But, for example, although there is Alaric with Lexi at her side, not visible. In this world you are alone and can not interact with anyone who wishes.
But hey, do not suffer, because someone who can keep company are witches, and they can have a little fun. Maybe Alaric (Matt Davis) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) to have a drink together and chat.
THE ORIGINALS: THE PEOPLE OF MYSTIC FALLS VERY OFTEN WILL VISIT NEW ORLEANS
While fans of 'The Vampire Diaries' eagerly await the issuance of season 5, the creator Julie Plec spoke of the spin-off 'The Originals' during a conference that took place last week in Austin. According to her, the characters present in 'The Vampire Diaries' will make the trip to New Orleans Mystic Falls without any problem, to interact with the stars of 'The Originals'.
According to Julie Plec, the possibilities for crossovers between 'The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals' are 'infinite'.
But the creator of 'The Vampire Diaries' states that the challenge to the series 'The Originals' is to bring viewers who have never seen 'The Vampire Diaries'. 'We want a series to be sufficient by itself and will require dose the links between' The Vampire Diaries 'and' The Originals 'so that this does not affect the new series' Julie Plec says. But she wants to calm the fans ensuring that there will be continuous trips between Mystic Falls and New Orleans both ways.

About season´s 4 finale, what it has to do with Jeremy ...
SPOILER ALERT!
If you haven´t seen Graduation 4x23 don´t read what´s next.
The resurrection of Jeremy Gilbert: "Vampire Diaries" fans are used to characters dying -- and occasionally, they pop back up later, whether it's as a vampire or as a ghost. Still, we were (pleasantly!) surprised to learn that Jeremy was coming back from the grave permanently, particularly because his goodbye episode was so heart-wrenching. Didn't the writers worry that resurrecting him would dull the impact of his beautiful, memorable send-off?
"It's something that we talked about a lot," Julie says. "Our intention, originally, was to say goodbye [to Jeremy] permanently. But then a lot of questions came up about the power of this girl losing her only living relative. It was so important to her journey at that moment. The global, eternally reaching tragedy attached to that is really sad, and really depressing."
Though Jeremy had to die in order to push Elena into the next phase of her life as a vampire, the writers quickly realized that it'd be impossible to bring her back from that dark, desperately tragic point in her life unless they revived Jeremy. Without him, Elena was looking down a long, black tunnel of depression -- and that wouldn't make for a particularly lively Season 5.
Now Elena has a chance at some happiness in Season 5. "[Getting Jeremy back] resets her, in a way, where she can now get on with her life and live like the Elena that we know," Julie says. She is cautious, because she knows that some viewers might not be pleased with the loophole Jeremy steps through to return to the land of the living. "Critically, you can look at something and go, 'Well, that's a take-back, it's not fair,' but emotionally, I think, it's a positive. We might get hammered for it. We'll see. I'm hoping people will be so glad to see our Elena pull her life back together, they'll accept it."
Julie Plec talks about Stefan´s drama
SPOILER ALERT!!
If you haven´t seen Graduation 4x23 don´t read what´s next.
1. Silas has a doppelganger -- and it's Stefan. Yes, the Petrova women aren't the only ones with the doppelganger enchantment in their blood. All of the convoluted twists regarding the legend of Silas, his goals, and his abilities came together. Thanks to a loophole, Silas came back to life, revealing that the immortality spell itself had a loophole: doppelgangers. Silas and Stefan share the same face. Stefan is Silas' doppelganger, and now he's trapped in a safe at the bottom of an ocean.
This is a storyline that has been in the works for about a year. "Last year, when Season 3 was over, we kept a small group of writers and we stayed for five weeks, to try to break the broad strokes of Season 4. Last year, right around this time, we came up with the doppelgänger pitch," executive producer Julie Plec tells us.
There were some complications to introducing another doppelgänger character. In Season 2 and early in Season 3, when Nina Dobrev was playing both Katherine and Elena regularly, she grew worn out, physically. Some of the decision-makers behind "The Vampire Diaries" were concerned that playing two characters could take a similar toll on Paul Wesley.
"We had to convince a lot of different people of how it could work and what could make it work," Julie says. "So that we didn't end up in a similar situation as with Katherine and Elena, where we exhausted Nina to the point of being unable to get out of her bed, because we accidentally overworked her so much. Creatively, everybody was very excited about the Silas doppelganger, it was just a matter of how long it took us to cement it, knowing that's fundamentally what we're going to do."
At the moment, Paul's not concerned about working too hard -- he's just excited to face a new challenge on the show. "He is so happy," Julie laughs. "Playing the straight man hero is not always the most exciting job for an actor, and Stefan, of all our heroes, is the straightest on the show. We get to go deeper into his ripper side sometimes, but for Paul, those moments are just pocket moments of opportunity to dig deeply into his craft, and a lot of other times he feels like he's just grooming his hero hair. So obviously, he's very enthusiastic about this, and has been supportive of it all along. He's been dying for something; to be a jerk, to be evil, to be the bad guy, to be able to stretch his muscles."
And in Season 5, he definitely will.
